Intimate Frontiers is an exhibition curated by Margaret McCann featuring paintings by Brett Baker, Sarah Dueth, Chris Bagg, Shiao-Ping Wang, Brian Chu, John Jacobsmeyer, and Trent Miller.

Educational/outreach components will include an essay written by the curator and published in a mini catalogue, 2 gallery talks by Chu and Wang – one in English and one in Chinese, a slide lecture by Jacobsmeyer, and Meet the Artist receptions to follow the talks.

The curator states “the 7 painters in Intimate Frontiers paint imagery ranging from abstraction to landscape, interiors, and figures. Some work from perception, others from concept or imagination. However divergent, all of these painters adventure poetically within the oxymoronic space of painting, which the title of this exhibition suggests: to boldly go where no one has yet gone, from the comfort of one's studio or near surroundings. Imagery describes the interface of the painter's artistic horizon, and the personal journey toward it.”
